The Goddess
(The muse has returned.)
Breathe in deeply.
You can just catch her scent.
Drive with the windows down.
Let the wind blow your hair.
You can feel her touch.
Tilt your face toward the sun.
Close your eyes.
Her image is burned into your soul.
School yourself to stillness.
In the background hum of machines,
she rings bells of brilliance and
sweet, sweet peals of silent laughter.
SHE is everywhere. And everything.
And everyone.
SHE has a finger inside my veins.
SHE watches me when I sleep.
SHE catches me when I fall.
SHE is a dream brought to life.
Even shadows are no match for her.
Look over your shoulder.
She's there but only from the corner
of your eye.
SHE stays with me at night
And keeps me warm.
SHE entreats me with a soft caress.
SHE enthralls me with a glance.
Or a smile.
Or a sigh.
